City of Edinburg to Kick Off Holiday Season with Miracle on McIntyre
Tree lighting and parade set for Thursday and Friday
Edinburg, TX – Get your Santa hats ready! The City of Edinburg invites the community to kick off the holiday season at two beloved annual traditions: the Lighting of the Tree and the Night of Lights Parade.
The festivities begin on Thursday, Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. at the Promenade Park Amphitheater with the Lighting of the Tree ceremony. Guests will enjoy the debut of the city’s stunning 30-foot, energy-efficient LED Christmas tree, which will shine brightly through the end of the year. The evening will also feature festive carolers, musical performances, and joyful dance presentations.
Following the ceremony, visitors can stroll over to the Miracle on McIntyre Holiday Market, where local vendors will offer holiday décor, unique gifts, and seasonal treats. Families can also enjoy free photos with Santa inside the enchanting Christmas tree forest, where patrons will have the opportunity to purchase a fresh Christmas tree to take home.
The celebration continues the next day on Friday, Dec. 5, as the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce presents the Night of Lights Parade. The parade will begin at Richard R. Flores Stadium at 7 p.m., traveling north along Closner Boulevard. Spectators are encouraged to bring their chairs and find the perfect spot to enjoy one of Edinburg’s most magical holiday traditions.
The Edinburg Holiday Market will also reopen on parade day from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., offering even more opportunities to shop local and celebrate the season.
