Warrants
Information on Court Warrants
Edinburg is a safe harbor court which means that persons may appear in the court at any time to resolve their outstanding cases without the fear of being arrested for warrants issued by the Edinburg Municipal Court.
Type of Warrants
For “Class C Misdemeanor” offenses the initial punishment assessed does not include jail time. When you sign the citation issued by the police officer, you promise to appear in court. You may be arrested if you do not voluntarily come to court as you have promised. In addition, you may be arrested if you do not pay the fine assessed by the Court, which you promised to pay.
- An additional offense of Failure to Appear or Violate Promise to Appear
- Not appearing at the Court as promised
- Not taking care of original Class C citation
- For people failing to obey Judge’s order to pay fine on or before a certain date.
