Overview of Building Safety
The Building Safety Department ensures construction projects across the City of Edinburg adhere to state and local laws to protect the health, safety, and welfare of its residents through effective building code compliance.
The department is responsible for plan review, permit issuance, and the conduction of inspections for all new construction, alterations, repair, demolitions or other building operations.
The Building Safety Department also provides customers with access to Citizen Self- Service (CSS), an online permit portal, which enables a customer to remotely submit permit complete permit issuance, schedule and receive inspection results, and more, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
