City of Edinburg to Host 4th Annual Homestead Exemption Event
Community encouraged to attend on Wednesday, October 14, 2026
Edinburg, TX - Residents interested in learning more about property tax savings are encouraged to attend the City of Edinburg’s 4th Annual Homestead Exemption Registration Event on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.
From 3 to 6 p.m. at the Dustin Michael Sekula Memorial Library, the community can meet with Hidalgo County Appraisal District personnel as they answer questions about the homestead exemption process and assist homeowners with their applications. The event aims to share important information on qualification requirements and ensure homeowners have the appropriate documentation in order.
Attendees are required to bring a Texas Driver’s License or state-issued ID with an address matching the property for which the exemption is being claimed. To qualify for Homestead Partial Exemption (PTC 11.13), the property owner must occupy the home as their principal place of residence and must not be claiming a residence homestead exemption on any other property.
