Why Join a Book Club?

Reading expands your horizons, but joining a book club adds even greater benefits. Participation encourages you to read more, explore genres you may not normally choose, and build meaningful connections with others.

Book clubs are also a wonderful way to learn about different cultures—not only through the books themselves, but through the diverse backgrounds and perspectives of fellow members. In addition, participation strengthens communication skills by encouraging thoughtful discussion and active listening.

What We Read

The Library Book Club covers a wide range of genres, including both fiction and nonfiction. Past selections have included biographies, memoirs, historical accounts, as well as popular fiction titles.

Some favorite selections include The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson.

The Book Club is proudly sponsored by the Friends of the Library to encourage reading, promote cultural diversity, and provide stimulating discussions of a wide variety of book selections.
