Edinburg, TX
- The end of an era, but the start of something new! The City of Edinburg will host a groundbreaking ceremony for the Edinburg Service Center on Friday, April 5, 2024, as construction on a modern facility begins.

For almost 50 years, the original building housed both the Public Works Department and the Utilities Department on Doolittle Road. Demolition of the Edinburg Service Center began in mid-March and represents a significant milestone in the city’s progress and growth.

The $5.3 million project will feature administrative offices, conference and training facilities, an emergency response center, and a new Utilities Department warehouse for storage of materials.

Utilities and Public Works are set to return to the Edinburg Service Center when construction is completed in April of 2025. Routine work within the city for both departments will continue without interruption.

The community is encouraged to participate in the event at 11 a.m. at 1201 N. Doolittle Road.
