10th Annual Little League Opening Ceremony Set in Edinburg

Edinburg, TX - Time to play ball! The Edinburg Parks and Recreation Department extends an invitation to the community to attend their 10th Annual Little League Opening Ceremony. Baseball and softball athletes in the age categories of 4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14 will officially be kicking off the Little League season. This year's event will take place at the UTRGV Baseball Stadium, located at 920 N. Sugar Rd., on Wednesday, March 27, at 6:30 p.m.

In a solemn gesture of respect, there will also be a moment of silence to honor the precious life of a 7-year-old boy who tragically passed away before having the chance to partake in this ceremony.

Close to 1500 kids will be participating in this special occasion, marking the beginning of the anticipated season's first game on April 2. For information on future athletic programs, residents are encouraged to contact the Edinburg Parks and Recreation Department at (956) 381-5631.
