Excitement builds in Edinburg for 4thAnnual Hometown of Heroes Half-Marathon

Edinburg, TX -  The City of Edinburg is thrilled to announce the much-anticipated 4th Annual Hometown of Heroes Half-Marathon, set to take place on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at 315 E. Mark S. Peña Dr.

During this special event, 13 local heroes, from teachers and military heroes to first responders, will be honored at each mile marker. A press conference announcing the winning nominees will take place on February 15th at 6 p.m. at Edinburg City Hall.

The event will feature two exciting categories: the eagerly awaited 13.1-mile individual half marathon and a new 5.5-mile individual race. Open to participants of all age groups, the scenic course will showcase prominent landmarks such as H-E-B Park, Municipal Park, Jackson Road Hike n’Bike Trail, UTRGV, McIntyre Promenade, and more!

Registration for the event is now open, and interested participants can sign up at activeedinburg.com or by contacting the Parks and Recreation facilities at 956-381-5631. Registration closes March 2 at midnight.
