Ribbon cutting ceremony to be held on December 4

Edinburg, TX - The City of Edinburg is excited to announce the opening of De Zavala Park, a new city/school green space, during a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday, December 4, 2023 at 5:30 p.m.

The park, made possible through a collaboration with the Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District and Hidalgo County Precinct 4, features a splash pad, restrooms, a walking/running trail, a basketball court with a metal roof structure, and multi-use fields.

The $1.5 million project, located at 3107 N. Mon Mack Road, provides another exciting recreational opportunity to residents as the city continues to emphasize the value of these amenities across the city. Additionally, construction of an all-inclusive playscape at De Zavala Park is scheduled for the spring of 2024.

The community and members of the media are encouraged to join city staff in-person or online at the City of Edinburg Facebook page or on Spectrum Channel 1300.
