| General
Information |
|
The
Wastewater Treatment Plant is located at 1202 N. "M" Road and operates
24 hours per day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year for the proper
treatment of raw sewage waste. The City owns and operates
its own wastewater system. The wastewater treatment plant
is a combination of the conventional type and an oxidation ditch
type with a total treatment capacity of 5.3 MGD with a permit capacity
of 5.9 MGD. The aeration tank treatment plant has a capacity
of 1.9 MGD, and the oxidation ditch plant has a capacity of 1.4
MGD. In July 1998, the City completed the construction of
an expansion to its existing wastewater treatment plant, which consisted
of an orbal biological treatment system with a capacity of 2.0 MGD
aeration. The City is currently in the design phase for the
construction of an additional treatment capacity of 2.0 MGD.
The scope of work planned for the expansion includes the headworks
with screening and de-gritting units, the addition of the 3rd outer
ring to the Orbal unit, the addition of another clarifier to the
Orbal plant, and a standby generator for the Orbal plant.
The City is currently in compliance with all state and federal permit
requirements for the discharge of wastewater.
