Finance - Tax Collection
Current year tax statements mailed out in October and May. Penalties and interest on the current tax year accrue as follows:

February
7%
      May
13%
March
9%
  June
15%
April
11%
  July
18%

On July 1, Taxes become delinquent.
20% additional attorney fees will be added. Delinquent Taxes that remain unpaid will accrue a one percent interest rate each month. Delinquent taxpayers will be receiving statements from Linebarger, Goggan, Blair & Sampson Delinquent Tax Attorneys office.

Exemptions, Values, Ownership & Address Changes
The Hidalgo County Appraisal District identifies property to be taxed. They determine the taxable owner, address, appraised value and the granting of exemptions. For more information on exemptions, values, or to report changes of ownership and / or address, please call the Hidalgo County Appraisal District at (956) 381-8466. Their office is located at 4405 Professional Drive, Edinburg, Texas 78539.
